SendThisFile® supports open source development community

SendThisFile® today is announcing open source community support by providing mirrored download file servers for Apache and Mozilla software. Open source software projects rely upon exact copies of their website, called mirrors, to be hosted by third parties.

"SendThisFile's file transfer service is prioritized for robust file sharing," said Scott Sexton, SendThisFile VP of Business Development. "Providing mirrors for open source software projects is a natural fit for our business, which lets customers download and send large files online."

Open source software development depends on other organizations to provide reliable downloads to its community. Companies who support Mozilla and Apache are not compensated.

"SendThisFile has utilized open source software, and strongly supports its continued development" said John Stephens, SendThisFile VP of Operations. "Our initial software stack relied on open source software to reliably help customers send large files."

To learn more about how your company can support Apache and Mozilla with your own mirror, visit www.apache.org and www.mozilla.org for more information.

SendThisFile lifts file sharing barriers by allowing free file downloads with no account

SendThisFile® today is announcing the ability to download shared files without an account. With SendThisFile, users can send large files online by uploading files to secure file servers, and then sharing the file download links.

"Our competitors require an account for their website before a user can download a file," said John Stephens, SendThisFile VP of Operations. "SendThisFile does not require an account to download shared files."

By not requiring an account to download files, SendThisFile eliminates a common complaint from end users.

"Not requiring an account to download a file is very important for businesses and professionals," said Scott Sexton, SendThisFile VP of Business Development. "It vastly reduces the friction associated with file transfers and improves user productivity. Users really like it."

At SendThisFile, file privacy and security are determined by the file sharer. Users who send large files can scale the level of file download security based on their need. File sharers can choose from public sharing, optional password protection, or optionally requiring a verified email address. All file transfers are protected by 128-bit SSL encryption security.

Downloading shared files without an account is available today to all SendThisFile customers.

Owen, Patterson & Owen Represent Preschoolers in First Lutheran Church of Carson Sexual Abuse Case

Prominent Los Angeles personal injury law firm Owen, Patterson & Owen has filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of children allegedly victimized while in the care of a church Kindergarten and daycare center.

Court papers filed on behalf of the six children (4 girls and 2 boys) and their parents allege negligence, negligent supervision, and intentional infliction of emotional distress on the part of First Lutheran Child Development Center—associated with First Lutheran Church in the city of Carson—contributing to sexual molestation of the children by other children attending the school. A parent being represented in the complaint said his 4-year-old son allegedly received oral sex at school from a 5-year-old girl. According to allegations, there were multiple girls involved in the oral sex acts on multiple occasions.

The alleged events cited occurred inside and outside the classroom, and on multiple days.

Furthermore, in the Los Angeles Superior Court South Central District papers filed February 5, 2013, (Complaint #TC027219) attorneys allege gross malfeasance on the part of the school's management, both before and after the incidents. According to court documents, whether the facility was properly licensed, and in full compliance with regulations, is also at issue.

"This facility's failure to supervise these small children will have a lifetime of consequences for these victims," says lead attorney Gregory James Owen of Owen, Patterson & Owen.

Widely covered in the local and national media, the molestation case has generated considerable interest even before parents sought redress in court.

First Lutheran Child Development Center announced it will be closing its doors on Friday.

More information about the situation can be found on the First Lutheran Church of Carson child sex abusewebpage on the law firms website or in this First Lutheran Church lawsuit discussion video by Greg Owen.
