SendThisFile gives Enterprise customers unlimited users at no extra charge

SendThisFile, a managed file transfer service, today is announcing that enterprise customers can host an unlimited number of users with an Enterprise plan. SendThisFile Enterprise plans enable a company's employees to send large files both internally within their company, and externally to customers and partners. SendThisFile enterprise customers do not have to manage their own servers, or install software on their employees' or customers' computers, in order to send and receive large files.

"By expanding the number of users that each Enterprise plan can host, customers can increase their file transfer capacity while maintaining their budgets," said Scott Sexton, SendThisFile Vice President of Business Development.

Despite the deepening recession, digital business collaboration continues to grow, driving businesses to seek out flexible cost-effective solutions.

"The economic pressures on CIOs and end Enterprise customers to improve cost performance is greater than ever," said John Stephens, SendThisFile's Vice President of Operations. "By allowing Enterprise customers to have an unlimited number of users on their plan, we are allowing customers to extend our service to a larger pool of their users at no additional cost."

SendThisFile Enterprise plans allow customers to choose how to host the service. For example, Enterprise customers can either use SendThisFile's website to send large files, or they can embed a SendThisFileFileBox on their internal website to handle their file transfers.

Unlimited users are available to all Enterprise plans, and there is no action required for existing Enterprise plan customers to enable this feature.

SendThisFile gives free FileBoxes to customers

SendThisFile, a cloud-based file sharing service, today is announcing free FileBoxes for all customers.

Email providers often limit the file sizes of email attachments to control server processing and storage costs leaving many users without a way to send large files. SendThisFile allows its customers to send large files without using email attachments by temporarily hosting uploaded customers files, which can then be downloaded by others. A FileBox goes a step further and allows SendThisFile users to receive large files from anyone who do not have a SendThisFile account.

A feature unavailable on many competitor file sharing websites, a FileBox offers additional sharing flexibility to users. To use a FileBox, customers share a special website link assigned to them by SendThisFile. Once the webpage is loaded visitors can send large files and even include a message. FileBoxes offer many security features such as password protection, user authentication, customization, and encryption.

"FileBoxes are a secure and easy way to receive large files from someone who does not have a SendThisFile account or special technical knowledge," said John Stephens, SendThisFile's Vice President of Operations.

SendThisFile automatically hosts a FileBox for customers, however users that own a website may choose to embed a FileBox into a webpage. Embedding a FileBox into a website reduces the steps needed for visitors to send files, since they won't have to navigate elsewhere to send a file. Customers can even customize a FileBox with a logo and colors.

SendThisFile views FileBoxes as a natural extension to file sharing and is giving each SendThisFile customer a free FileBox.

"FileBoxes offer a truly unique file sharing capability," said Alex Hund, SendThisFile'sSenior Brand Manager. "By including a FileBox with every account, including free plans, customers are going to get flexible and robust capabilities that are out of reach to all but the most comprehensive file sharing providers."

FileBoxes are available to every SendThisFile customer worldwide, and are free to existing customers.

SendThisFile reduces SPAM with Secure SMTP notification emails

SendThisFile® today is announcing a new feature for users who send large files, secure simple mail transfer protocol (SMTPS) for file notifications. SMTPS routes SendThisFile file notification emails through a customers' existing email account server, improving service integration and reducing the likelihood of a file notification getting mis-identified as unsolicited bulk, or SPAM, emails.

Despite continuous attempts by public and private organizations to fight the spread of SPAM emails, it has proven to be a resilient nuisance and threat to computer users worldwide. According to Internet networking equipment maker Barracuda Networks, on June 3rd 2012 they processed over 405 million emails on their equipment, of which they filtered over 343 million, or 83.6% as SPAM.

In response, email programs, security software, email service providers such as Gmail, Yahoo!, and Internet service providers have increased their automated SPAM countermeasures, such as word checking, website blacklists, HTML disabling, and content filtering. Unfortunately, automated content filtering is inaccurate and often overly aggressive, resulting in false positives, the industry term for mis-identifying legitimate email as SPAM.

False positives occur when legitimate emails are marked as SPAM, and are typically quarantined into a SPAM folder, never to arrive to the recipient's Inbox or be seen by the recipient. For any business relying on email as a primary form of digital communication, wrongful SPAM identification will result in mis-communication, confusion, and countless hours of lost productivity.

In certain cases, Simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP) can provide an answer to lost emails. SMTP is an email standard that allows users to relay email messages from a software client to a users' existing email server. When users configure their SMTP relay server with SendThisFile, they send large files to others who then receive a notification email where the 'From:' field contains the users' chosen email address rather than 'files@sendthisfile.com' which may get filtered.

"We are thrilled to give customers the ability to relay messages through their existing email accounts," said John Stephens, SendThisFile's VP of Operations. "Allowing SMTP will improve the odds of successful email delivery."

SMTP relay transmissions between SendThisFile and the users email server are secured with encryption using a secure socket layer (SSL).

"SSL encryption is highly effective and protects email message communications from phishing, eavesdropping, and tampering," said Scott Sexton, SendThisFile's VP of Business Development.

With secure SMTP enabled, SendThisFile offers a robust and secure way to ensure that users can send large files without them getting lost in the digital mail.
